Principal Message
A belated “Happy Diwali” to our community members who celebrated this special occasion last week.

I have been fortunate to experience Y4, Y6 and Y3 camps this week and all the children were having a great time! The Year 3 and Year 4 parents have been able to follow the camp via the “Cover It Live” application on the Year 3 and 4 Planet Peak pages. Year 6 parents have been able to see their children “in action” via the photos set up on Picasso. I think there were over 300 photos available at the end of the first day for the Year 6 parents to look through! There will be some very tired Year 3, 4 and 6 children (and staff) at the end of this week but no doubt they will also have some fabulous memories.

I want to take this opportunity to welcome Mel Rushby and Ian Wishart  to our teaching team. Mel joins us from Sha Tin Junior School and is our new LSC coordinator. She replaces Anne who has been seconded onto the ESF Education Team for 3 days a week with a focus on Gifted Education. The other 2 days a week Anne will be working at Peak School supporting our LSC team and our teachers and children. Ian will be working with our learning support mainstream students until the end of this term. Helen Hattam will then return to this role (Helen is currently teaching 1M.) Mel and Ian have been with us since the Mid Term break and we are delighted to have them join our team.

To learn more about Mel, Ian and indeed other teachers, student leaders, School Council Members and our PTA, please go to the following link on our website http://www.ps.edu.hk/.

Have a great weekend everybody.

PTA News
Dear Parents

Many thanks to all of you who have supported our centenary gala fundraising by buying tickets for the Gala Dinner on the 12th November.

We need to finalise numbers today with Cafe Deco so if you haven't bought your tickets please email pta@peakschool.net directly and we will add you to the list; it looks like being a great evening.

All tickets need to be paid by next Monday please.

If you couldn't make it you can still help us out by buying RAFFLE tickets which are available 5 for $100 either direct from Jackie in the PTA office or from us at the school gates before drop off and pickup. You could win one of our fabulous luxury hampers that are being wrapped today and will be on display all next week in the lobby!

Please remember this is a celebration and a fundraiser for our specialist in residence program to benefit all the peak school children and enhance their learning.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the gala evening.

JUNIOR CHOIR
The Junior Choir will start practising very soon. Any child in year 1 and 2 is welcome to join. Rehearsals will take place during lunch times. day to be confirmed. They will be preparing for the Christmas Nativity held at St John's Cathedral in December where they traditionally sing 2 or 3 carols and are dressed as little angels.

SENIOR CHOIR
The senior choir (yrs 3-6) have already started practising as we have 3 Christmas concerts coming up. This is a large (and in my opinion rather wonderful) group but I would suggest it is too late for newcomers to join now as we are well in to our repertoire. Thanks to those who have been regularly attending and commitment from now on is strongly encouraged.

MUSICIANS
A few talented children have started working on the accompaniments to the carols and may even get a little 'minstrel slot' at the Nativity if it works out.

NATIVITY ACTORS
We have already put together our team of actors who will help to tell the story of the Nativity at St John's Cathedral. There aren't many lines to learn but as they say in the trade, "There are no small parts, only small actors"

PARENT VOLUNTEERS
If any parents would be interested in helping out with costumes, practising lines etc, please e-mail me as I would appreciate an extra hand or two .

Many thanks
