Principal's Message
Dear Parents

Thank you so much for your support this week with the learning journeys. It has been terrific to see our children so excited to share their learning journeys with their parents and loved ones.

My blog has been updated and you can find information this week about:

  • Peforming Arts Redevelopment Update (latest plans available to view)
  • Application of the week (a great application where children can create a digital book on an iPad)
  • Digital Citizenship (a very useful weblink to a website dedicated to ensuring our children remain safe online)
  • PTA Contribution (just how much support does the school receive? You will be amazed)
  • ESF Stakeholders Survey Update (a reminder to take the time to respond)
Click here to access my blog called "Take Me To Your Leader". Remember you can log in as a guest or enter using your child's user name and password.
Have a great weekend.

PTA News
Dear Parents

Peak School Has Talent
The children are all very excited and looking forward to our fantastic Peak School Has Talent Night which will be held in the school hall next Thursday 8th March from 6pm - 8pm. Doors open at 5.45pm and performances will start at 6pm.

Tickets are now sold out but PLEASE NOTE that if your child is performing you can still purchase tickets as we are reserving some for families: please contact PTA office ASAP.

Children's tickets include a juice box and crisps, there will also be a candy stall and a cash bar for purchases: all proceeds go towards our PTA fundraising.

Please note there will not be any other food at this event.

Our finalists have been informed by letter so please encourage your budding star to REHEARSE thoroughly at home to give the best performance on the night. We need to do final run-throughs on Mon/Tue next week so all costumes and music must be in school by Monday at the latest.

We urgently need some VOLUNTEERS to help decorate the hall on Thursday, from 12:30 onwards, which should take about 2 hours. We also need helpers on the night, so if you are coming and can help please email Kate Jackson :

Our PTA committee is quite small this year, so we REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you all there for what we are sure will be a wonderful evening's entertainment.

Coffee Morning
We are planning to hold an open PTA coffee morning in the library from 8.30am to 10am on Friday 16th March.

Please come along for coffee, cake and a chat. This is a great opportunity if you have something you would like to raise with the PTA, either in terms of fundraising, spending on the school or wider educational topics. The committee would love to meet with parents new and old, feel free to bring little ones along.

Many thanks

The Speech Contest

We are thrilled to share with you that this year we had 61 children from Y3 to Y6 participate in the 2nd Peak School Mandarin Speech Contest 2012 Semi Final on Febuary 24th. All of the performers have done a fantastic job and 37 children have been selected in the final scheduled on March 9th, 2012! We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the student judges for being so responsible and principled and all the audience who were so encouraging to their friends. We’d also like to invite you to join us if your child is participating in the final. Invitation letters have been sent to your email address. Please let us know your availability by Monday, March 5th, 2012.

Apart from that, there will be 6 children from Y1 to Y6 representing the Peak School in the 14th Primary and Middle School Putonghua Speech Contest 2012 on March 24th, 2012.

Parent Consultations - Gateway Bookings Online
The parent consultations/conferences (three-way) are set to take place in the week beginning March 19 and will conclude in the last week of the term.

As mentioned, at the conclusion of the learning journeys, this year the bookings for our parent consultations will be done through Gateway rather than having parents ring the school office. The system is very user friendly and enables parents to log in and book a time for their child.

The booking system will be available for all parents on March, 1.

Steps to make a booking on Gateway
  1. Log in to Gateway
  2. Go to the “communications tab” and select “parent consultations”
  3. Select the appropriate year group, then roll group, student and event (you can choose “Year group parent conferences” and/or “specialist conferences”).
  4. Select the date and simply click on the 15 minute time block that suits and is also still available according to the legend.
If you do have any issues with Gateway please contact Mark Ellis on our ICT helpdesk on the following email -
gateway-help@peakschool.net
