Principal's Message
Dear Parents

At our last School Council meeting the board endorsed our Annual Plan. This plan is now available from our website “General Information>School Development Plan”. The annual plan highlights our priorities for the year so please take the time to read it so you have a sound appreciation of what we are working towards as a school community.

I hope you have an opportunity to spend some time with your children during their midterm break. I am off to New Zealand and will actually be attending the All Black versus Wallabies World Cup Semi Final rugby game. Even if you do not follow rugby you will be able to tell who won the game based on whether or not I am smiling upon our return to school the following week!

I look forward to seeing all the children return after the break refreshed and ready for the many exciting challenges that lay ahead.

Kind Regards

Bill Garnett

PTA News
Dear Parents

Peak School is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its foundation in Hong Kong (1911-2011). To round off a fabulous year of celebrations we are holding a Gala Dinner at Cafe Deco on Saturday 12th November. You should all have received your invitations in your child's school bag this week; copies are available in the office if they have been mislaid.

The school and the PTA would like to invite you to join with the school community, past and present, in remembering the wonderful history of Peak School and celebrating this fantastic milestone. You can either buy individual tickets or book a table of 10 and bring your friends.

Entertainment will span the 100 years, from Jazz band to DJ, with Chinese Fortune Tellers, Dinner, Dancing and Raffle Prizes. A full international buffet and all drinks will be included in the ticket price of $1200.

The evening's theme is East West and the dress code Chinese Formal or Black Tie.
Please return the cut off ticket application with your payment to the PTA office as soon as possible as tickets are strictly limited.

Any enquiries please contact Jackie To at pta@peakschool.net.

Many thanks to our class mums for co-ordinating our fundraiser for the Centenary Gala Dinner: the luxury hampers which each class is compiling will be on display after half term in the lobby for you all to view, and will be raffled on the night with all proceeds going to the Centenary Fund for our specialist in residence programme. Raffle Tickets will be available in the PTA office from Monday 24th October.

We look forward to celebrating with you.

Peak school PTA committee.

Uniform Message
As the weather changes and the temperature drops children are forced into warmer clothing. Can I please remind all parents and caregivers that when this happens our children are still expected to wear the correct uniform. A warm polar fleece top and a jacket are both available from the PTA and I encourage you to purchase these for your children if you haven’t already done so. Children wearing the incorrect uniform will be spoken to by their teacher or a member of the Leadership team and after the mid term break a note will also go home regarding incorrect uniform being worn.

Missing Books
Following our audit of Home Readers this week we have discovered that there are a substantial number of books missing from Levels 20- 30. Please have another check at home and return any home readers to our 'Amnesty box' in the office.
Box of Hope
'Box of Hope' is an exciting charity project aimed at providing useful/educational gifts to underprivileged children in Hong Kong & Asia donated by Hong Kong school children and local organisations. We would like your child to cover and fill a shoe box with NEW interesting and EDUCATIONAL gifts at home and bring them in to school. The children were reminded in assembly this week so they should know all about it. Please visit www.boxofhope.org if you need a reminder of the kinds of things to include in the box. The boxes will be collected during the week of 7th November. Thanks in advance.
